Stop taking a single sentence out of context.
The point of the NHL Draft is to obtain as many Star Players as possible.
As I pointed out, outside of the top 10, the Q has not really produced many (any?) star players. Most of them were drafted top 3 with a couple in the rest of the top 10.
Crosby- again drafted #1 overall but I was really referring to 2011 onwards - when Mackinnon was drafted #1 overall.
If you looked at this trend/data- and you had to allocate resources - wouldn't you make an educated decision to allocate proportionately less resources to cover the Q? That's what I would do and I would also have players play in the OHL instead as well or another better development league.
It's an opinion supported by the facts. I don't see how it's a wild take.
If you draft a player out of the QMJHL out of the top 10 of the 1st round, data from the last 13 years - indicates that the player WILL NOT be a Star Player.
