If Conroy thought he was a diamond in the rough, lost in another organization (like Yegor with Devils) I could at least understand that angle, but if you think he was just a garbage throw in that makes the deal utterly terrible. For what it's worth I think this was a guy Conroy thought could bust not. But he busted. I have no desire to belabour this trade this much a year later and rehashing old debates but it was a bad deal then and a worse one now.

Pretty sure you can't add picks on with condition the player signs with that team anymore.
There was a lot of talk around then with the player agent driving to get the player to certain teams that the player would like to sign. It did limit the buyers.
