Anecdotally, I have a history of dogs hating me for no reason on first interaction. Like they go full ape####. I was just visiting my dad, and my step sister had her two dogs there. Best dogs. Perfect. Don't bark at stuff ever, and just loveable. Well not to me. I open the door, they take one look and charge me, barking, jumping up on me, wild beasts.


It took a few hours and I was able to calmly interact with them until they settled down, but everyone there was blown away. They never behaved like that. So I dunno what it is about me, but dogs want me dead. Their complete unpredictability is a reminder that all dogs need to be treated as wild animals first, and cuddly pets second.
