Surprisingly, my wife's Lexus (Toyota), which is 7 years newer, also has similar issues around phone connections. You would think in 2024, they would be able to figure this out.

Ah, I could see that. The Nissan my in-laws drive works fine overall, but intermittently gets weird. I've had smart screens do the same in the past where all the devices are basically fighting each other for pole position.
I don't know which thread it was, but this one popped up for work calls for a situation you don't want to or cannot pair to the vehicle:

At least it's an option if you still want a solution for wireless calls for the work phone. I've seen realtors use devices like this, I assume because it allows them to continue a conversation away from the vehicle if needed.
