I would give up the two extremes including balmy chinook weather to be able to bank on having -5 (give or take a few degrees) weather consistently throughout winter.
It's easy to adjust to and is fairly comfortable for walking, hiking and skiing if it's sunny.
You can't adjust to this ####.
