^I thought Harley was the replacement for Theodore who is out for the tourney, and he was going to be an extra anyway until Makar couldn't go? I agree he was good. Better than Doughty.
There are definitely some questionable choices, and losing Theodore and Makar definitely makes the blue line look pedestrian. But it's not like the WJHC thing where they left top tier guys at home. I wouldn't have taken guys like Cirelli or Marchand, but they're not egregious choices and they have been quite good at their roles for the most part.
I just think you have four elite centers at your disposal in 29, 97, 87 and 21. You can then have the following 8 wingers: Marner, Stone, Thomas, Bedard, Reinhart, Scheifele, Hagel and then take your pick on the last one (I'd take Guenther or Celebrini). Now make some lines and just roll them one after another and good luck to anyone standing up to that, because literally everyone is an elite first line scorer who can at any moment have a "#### you I'm scoring right now" shift. Every one of them is the guy the other team is scared of in the NHL and that they're praying gets off the ice ASAP. You don't have to take second liners, just take an entire team of first team all-stars.
Canada isn't alone in this, USA has done it plenty too.
