It's like people forget that Phaneuf was an absolute wagon for the first 5 years after he was drafted. He would have been in the NHL in his D+2 year if not for the lockout, and the team should have brought him into the lineup instead of Brennan Evans. But they didn't want to lose two potential contract years because of the looming lockout. In his first three seasons he was the top young D in the league. But the injuries caught up and he fizzled out. But in those years he had no equal, not Suter, or Keith, or Weber....those guys emerged in their early to mid 20's.

Parehk is a good solid prospect. But Buium from the same draft still has people who like him better...that's probably some who like Dickenson. Phaneuf out of a hyped Draft by year two was the guy with all the hype.
