My current company it’s bad because the outsourced IT with low budget the tempting in is absolutely terrible. Constantly logging in and connection issues and all the other not in the office crappiness.

The American bosses clearly not a fan, made it one day work from home which I think is reasonable as hell. Holy hell the hate from people with kids, now what do I do with childcare????

Isn’t working from home you work and not take care of toddlers? Self sufficient children sure, but toddlers??? I thought that was part of the deal, you can’t take care of toddlers and work unless your toddlers are veggies?

My short term disability rep at RBC is 100% of the time in the car with her kids when I call her and just wants me off the phone. I am asking how do I go back to work on an incremental schedule and she has dragged it on for weeks because she isn’t working. I’m getting $2500 a week tax free. It’s great for me. I could milk this until
June but I won’t. It’s ridiculous. Then our HR person is also working from home so nothing turns around in less than two days.

My neighbor works from home and golfs three days a week in the summer at Glencoe, totally has a system for it, his wife does too, yoga and hiking.

Tl;dr. Working from home is awesome but farrrrrr too many people are grossly abusing it and we are all gonna get fataed.
It’s really a failure of middle management to hold people accountable but middle management is often poorly trained and poorly suited especially with technical roles where the skills that made you successful to be promoted aren’t the skills to manage people.
