I agree, I still believe when PP was in landslide territory in the polls before Trudeau resigned it was almost entirely due to how Trudeau is/was so unlikeable to so many Pierre was de facto choice. Now that Trudeau is done and people realize how unlikeable Pierre is things started swinging back. And you are correct, with all the Trump/U.S./tariff disasters to the South it is more than just Trudeau now, other reasons are at play. But originally imo it was definitely a CPC runaway train in the polls almost completely due to Trudeau's image in this country. No wonder the CPC wanted an election so badly before, I would too.
