The reason I sometimes get upset by grammar and spelling is because the wrong use can totally change the meaning of what is being written. Then, when I finish and the sentece hasn't made any sense, I need to re-read it trying to figure out what was screwed up. That usually doesn't take too long, but when I am trying to read a 80 post thread every time I need to re-read a post it means I'm not thinking about the merit of the post.
And the errors that drive me nuts have generally been listed.
Just think of the "stupid" rule:
"Your stupid" means you own a stupid.
"You're stupid" means you are stupid.
"There stupid" means stupid is over there.
"Their stupid" means they own a stupid.
"They're stupid" means they are stupid.
And when I see a thread with the title like "Player X resigns" I always wonder why they decided to quit. Especially on thread titles, we need a spelling/grammar nazi mod.
