Yes, voters have been calling for an outsider like you say but Carney can only call himself an outsider from the standpoint of not having been an elected representative. He is deeply routed in Trudeau's Liberal government through various advisory roles, task forces, etc. Trudeau was looking to make him the Finance Minister prior to everything caving in on them. Trudeau's right hand man, Gerald Butts, is now looking after Carney's campaign. It all reeks of being the same turd from the same pile.
Good on ya though if you think you are getting an outsider and someone different in Carney.
