Meg 2: The Trench: More stupid fun with Jason Statham but the emphasis is on stupid this time. Just bored me from the start with too many underwater scenes with CGI and a silly corporate espionage story driving the plot. Did eventually get to the good stuff with the giant shark and friends attacking an ocean side resort but it wasn't enough to redeem this mess. 4/10
Red One: Who was this even made for? It's too scary for a kids movie and too sappy for a grown up action flick. Feels like it is trying to appeal to everyone while throwing as much Christmas lore as possible into the story. Is enjoyable at times and there is a backbone of an interesting movie here but overall is an unfocused mess. 5/10
Spellbound: Netflix attempting to made a Disney movie about a young princess going on a musical quest with a talking animal sidekick. Feels mostly uninspired with ordinary animation and music. Does almost redeem itself at the end with a surprising twist and interesting moral but needed more of that creatively elsewhere. 5/10
Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl: Have saved the best for last with this British claymation about an inventor and his dog taking on an evil penguin. It's silly, funny, and thrilling while also providing a social commentary on technology. Just had an enjoyable time watching with the family. Made me want to put on Chicken Run after and I need to explore the older Wallace & Gromit media. 9/10
