There is a lot of room for unfavorable stuff to happen short of concentration camps. Also, my wife is jewish, as are my kids, so I take some umbrage to actually fearing that. I do fear exactly that. I think there is plenty of historical basis for this. Last week, Alberta sent a delegation of minister to attend a prayer breakfast and governors meeting in DC.
I've laid this out before, but does anyone know what the barrier to statehood is? It's a vote in congress. Congress which has shown they are beholden to the President's agenda, regardless of legal norms or precedent. What if the "governor" of a "state" (herein meant nation-state not US state) petitioned congress for statehood on behalf of her "state"? If the president equally indicated support, and congress voted to accept that proposal, what would happen?
