For some reason people who defend Musk et al seem to operate on the basis that calling them Nazis is some sort of insult, but they clearly don't see it that way. I mean, here's an excerpt of Peter Thiel (Musk's buddy and bankroller of JD Vance) where he was talking about how much he admired Nazi philosopher Carl Schmitt. As part of that, he compared the 2020s US to Weimar Germany, suggesting that they need to look towards extremism and anti-democracy to solve their problems:

"I don't think we're ever in a cyclical world but there are certainly certain parallels in the U.S. in the 2020s to Germany in the 1920s," Thiel said. "Liberalism is exhausted, one suspects that democracy, whatever that means, is exhausted, and that we have to ask some questions very far outside the Overton window."
