Carney's platform is essentially Gerry Butts's 4.0 platform.
Carbon tariffing imports and imposing severe costs on domestic producers concurrently while 90% of the world is not imposing those constraints and costs on their businesses is a recipe for accelerated decline in Canadian living standards. This would be a continuation of what we've seen the last decade. This only works if most of the productive world also participates.
If you like living in dog crate condos, don't have any aspirations of having a family, don't care about having a good job at a company that's globally competitive, and want to see a ceiling on wages due to millions of 'temporary residents/ students' pouring into the country year after year to manipulate GDP statistics to mask how uncompetitive Canada; then Mark Carney might be right for you.
