Didn't basically every European country turn their back on the Jews during WW2? No one wanted the Jews and it ended up with a bunch of them getting exterminated by the Nazis.
So after the war "never again will we turn our backs on refugees" and the UN adopts the declaration of human rights.
Now the Jews have a golden opportunity to exploit this. No one wants the Palestinians but Europe can't say no to the Palestinian refugees because of European guilt from the 2nd world war. It's perfect.
