Canadians need to do their part and continue to buy local and be self aware of products that come from the US. The true test in all of this is that if the premiers and federal government can finally band together and stop playing regional politics. The time to diversify is now. This was a warning shot by the US that could still have significant consequences. We need to get our act together and pursue better interprovincial investments and more international trade.

Bang on, IMO.
One other thing I hope comes from this: Canadians turn down the temperature and vitriol when it comes to remarking upon our own leaders. You can disagree with or dislike them, but at the end of the day they're just people like you and me with tough jobs to do. I know I wouldn't have wanted to be on that phone call today, but am glad someone was and they did their best. Our leaders are not separate and apart from the rest of us, and they're not the only ones responsible for fixing things. We all have a part to play, and it was nice to see so many Canadians recognizing that.
