But something tells me, and its my fear as a Canadian, that if a deal pops up after Trudeau and Trumps talk today, that passive Canadian mentality will come back. Canadians will blow a sigh of relief and we will go back into our old ways of complacency. This is our wake up call. Time to pick up the phone and respond.

We should have started doing this 30 years ago.
We should be energy independent.
When COVID happened we had to procure vaccines. You know what? Because of historical nonsense and some hurt feelings, Cuba made their own vaccine.
We couldnt do that.
Trump stole PPE supplies destined for Canada for America.
When he says 'America First' he means it.
Why cant we make our own PPE?
We have been reliant on others, largely the USA, for so long its like we dont know any other way.
And, frankly, I think if one were to go to a Psychologist and ask them to analyze Canada as a person? I dont think we'd like the answer.
And its not Harper's fault or Trudeau's fault or Singh's fault or....whoever, Elizabeth May? Although she hasnt helped much its also not her fault.
Its all of our faults. And it has been for a long time.
In the immortal words spoken in Full Metal Jacket..."Its a giant #### sandwich and we're all gonna have to take a bite."
