The ocean thing is silly because if both countries moved their population to the other, they’d have even more power.
Their labor is far less productive than Canadian labor. And now they have a population problem.

Think of what would be more threatening to the US, President Xi being able to stand 1 cm from the border with the Chinese military or Canadians squabbling about imposing a carbon tax on themselves and getting to 2% GDP military spending by the time half of us are dead. The ocean is not a threat to them.
