Not anecdotes about what you saw on the ice, because you're probably overrating or underrating play that leads to goal prevention or creation. Any given GIVE_d could be overskating the puck in the corner with 3 defenders in front of the net, or an outright bad play like what Weegar did in the Washington game.
Who do you think are the top 20 D in the league and what are you basing it on? I have time to watch a decent number of Flames games but I am not watching every team play every game.

Is it? If it isn't accurately reflecting what it is attempting to measure, then it isn't a good model.
Not attacking you, just saying hockey stats still have a long way to go. And the argument 'they're the best we have" doesn't hold water if they aren't accurate and meaningful.
