Would expedite other options. When there was an energy crisis in the 60s and 70s it spurned the largest energy infrastructure shift in history. Hydroelectric, nuclear, an attempt to gain energy independence despite Alberta's objections.
Don't let a crisis go to waste. We can choose to whine about how it wasn't built 10 years ago, or push to get the stuff built now.
