We need to move away from the US as our sole partner. They simply are not reliable. If you look at their history of the deals and partnerships they make- they are the most flimsy least reliable "partner" on Earth. They renege on deals 24/7. They back stab. They never honour their commitments. They're basically traitorous.
So I don't know why we would continue to be a partner when the USA has violated Canadian / US trade relations twice in the last ten years. We make a deal with Trump- what does that mean anyway?
Say we solve this tariff issue. You can't trust he won't break it again. You can't trust the USA. You can't. So start to diversify and get other friends.
You know who insinuated all the above? Mark Carney, yesterday, in an interview with the BBC. He's exactly right. If the States want to violate this agreement, fine, time to move on. They can go be alone in an increasingly globalized world.
The Americans NEVER honour their word. They NEVER stick to their deals.
