Whether or not Kuzmenko finds some of his NHL rookie season stats again doesn't really matter anymore. The plan was to always try and get something for him this season (it would have been nice for him to be on 30-goal, 70 point pace to be selling at, but he didn't have anything this season and wasn't worth re-signing. Pelletier had great energy, but was still on waivers not long ago, and a useful spot in the lineup was only going to be tougher to get going forward. One guy who wasn't performing and will be gone at the end of the year

Frost shores up the centre position. No more trying to hope that Sharangovich or Zary can succeed there, the team has three strong Top 9 centres. Kadri-Backlund-Frost, Frost-Kadri-Backlund, Backlund-Frost-Kadri, whatever. It's better. Zary and Sharangovich can continue to fill in at centre in a pinch, but can play where they have the most success. Farabee fits into the Top 6 more than Pelletier or Pospisil ever could, having similar production to Coleman during his career. It's an immediate upgrade on the wing.

So I'm happy with the trade.
