That should be how the Canadian government can call their bluff. Offer to send policy experts to the United States to work with their administration in order to save people's lives. Make a big show about drug strategies that have an upstream effect. It will obviously fall on deaf ears but it will be evidence to some of the non-lunatics in America that the tariff threats are being put in place for the express purpose of generating revenue, with a likelihood for corporate tax cuts and grifts.

That's the thing though, there are no quantifiable metrics to Trumps demands that we can reach for this to end. What does he really want? Numbers? Even Danielle Smith doesn't know and she's been there with him.
He will keep moving the goalposts and the Canadian government should call his bluffs cause he's negotiating in bad faith
