I don't think they would, but if you think about the potential reasons:
1. RHS vs LHS
2. Age (23 vs 25)
3. Contract - Cozens is signed at 7m long-term and if Buffalo is souring on that, you give them a slightly older, but cost-controlled center in exchange. So similar to Farabee, you weaponize cap space and he perhaps costs less as we wouldn't need them to retain or take on a crap contract
4. Byram is the other piece that seems glaring as after Bahl's gone down, the L side is fairly weak. We do have some guys up and coming but likely no one that they feel comfortable to insert down the stretch. Adding to it, he's only 23 as well. One caveat I'd have is one poster a while back saying he's a terrible human being apparently, and that may not jive with the room (if true)
So, you're right, typically players aren't moved just after they get traded, but it sounds like it all came together fairly quickly. Maybe there's been no time to pitch something new to Buffalo for Cozens.
Regardless, I would say there's still plenty of reasons that would make sense to at least entertain the idea of moving Frost, so long as Cozens is part of the return.
