It's expected that Lindy Ruff is going to have more of a say in Buffalo and Samuelsson doesn't seem to be his favourite. Samuelsson isn't better than any of the guys we have playing in the top 6 right now. Hanley, Pachal and Bean and Miramanov are all significantly better players with similar or harder zone starts at 5v5.
That contract is bad.
