If Crew-9 returns before Crew-10 goes up (and Crew-10 was scheduled for Feb but was moved to March because SpaceX wanted more time since it's a new Dragon capsule), then it will leave a single NASA astronaut on board to operate the US portion of the station resulting in the cancellation of a spacewalk.
They're astronauts, their job is to be in space, I doubt they're feeling stranded.
