Meh, no real rant.
They shouldnt be in this hole in the first place, that is well documented.
Much of the uptik this year is thanks to an extra couple Copa America games that wasn't in the budget, and that's on the team performance. Also, a competent guy in Blue coming along to steer things back on track as much as he can, properly, and a dynamic motivated coach (not paid by the CSA - savings there too) who has been fundraising, help in keeping things on track with funds not magically disappearing as they likely have in the past.
And, with many corporations wanting to be associated with the WC as it creeps to a year away, CSA will get more "philanthropy" directly to fund things, while the CSB gets the lions share of new revenue and pays the allowance to the CSA.My guess is that allowance increased a bit in a very public gesture by the CSB, for a year or so.
So 2025 and 2026 financial numbers should be better as the corporate bandwagon fills up in this country, and whatever Fifa bonus money they get for performancenin 2026 WC and anything else associated with hosting that hasn't been paid.
But, they still didnt have money for a proper training camp this winter and the coach still fundraising for basic necessities is a bad look.
The real question will be what happens in the WC hangover. Sponsors take a break for a couple years. Marsch gone, Blue probably gone and the CSA may be left to their own failing devices to handle things, including funds. Again.
