Vancouver, clearly not dealing from a position of strength, wants a potential #1C back in the deal. That C makes less than Pettersson, signed for around the same length I think. Vancouver takes back a young D, RFA, will need a new deal but they want someone who can play behind Hughes and log some good minutes. Buffalo gets a star C obviously and a reclamation project winger who has some term. Favors done on both sides in a way.
I mean it was looking like Vancouver was being offered Necas and maybe Drury for Pettersson or Miller. I don't see this deal as being worse.
