Not much to add really.
It was an episode of Discovery without any of the worst characters. They substituted in some similarly awful ones instead, but they don't bring the baggage of having hated them for hundreds of hours already.
Plot made zero sense (as usual). Doomsday device to destroy the entire quadrant. villain wants to use it to rule the quadrant... which has been destroyed? Oh, you mean the Mirror Universe quadrant! Wait, you said that had already been stripped of all resources. But the Terran Empire is also going to invade... the Alpha quadrant that the villain is going to destroy?
I'm sorry. What's the f-ing plan again??!?
The fight scenes I'm sure some choreographer and stunt people worked their asses off for. But of course quick cut shakey cam means you can't see anything, so after the first 3 min or so, it get's really boring.
It stuck out to me after season 3 of Picard where the best character was Captain Liam Shaw, and in the final season of Discovery where the best character was Commander Reyner, the thing that was really missing was a great Star Fleet officer. Garrett could have been that... but they decided that she shouldn't be, and instead should be a "comedic" foil to be made fun of by the rest of the clownshow.
Ah well. It met the expectation of being tone deaf and awful. Picard, Discovery, and now this are dead. Here's hoping everyone who worked on them goes back to Real Housewives from whence they came.
