Default Severance (Spoilers)

I think this show deserves it's own thread. Just watched the first 2 episodes of season 2 back to back and they're a fantastic 1-2 punch. One thing that really struck me in the last episode was the set design choices. The severed floor is very minimalistic by design, but it seems like the whole outside world is too. Every car we see is 30-40 years old, yet Mark has a modern smartphone so the series isn't set in the 90's. The diner and the town itself are as basic and boring as possible, makes me wonder if this is just a stylistic choice or if there's more meaning to it
