I think the Canes try to give Rantanen really huge money for slightly shorter term. Also, we all know about the aging curve, but Rantanen is on pace for his third straight season with over 100 points. He’s huge, very strong and fast. I think he could be a very good player for quite some time still just because he’s starting from such a high point. So, I wouldn’t be surprised if the Canes do just give him a max-term contract.
