You're know the answer to your own questions.
Star Trek Discovery or, STD, is, in it's own unique way...almost a lesson in show-writing.
I supported the writers getting paid more with the exception of STD writers because, if you're bad at what you do then you shouldnt be getting paid more.
That writer's room must be wild.
"Oh God! Oh God! This sucks! This is brutal! We gotta get someone recognizable in there or this show is canceled and we're all fired and, lets be honest, putting this show on our resumes isnt going to generate a lot of callbacks!"
