I'd be interested to see anything that backs that up. Like, this opinion poll shows less than 10% of democrats don't know who he is, and that was back in 2022.
Currently in the UK it's, like, 1% don't know who he is. I'm sure they are also aware of his relationship to Tesla.

Who knows, maybe the average Canadian is far more naive than that, but I'm not sold on your statement.
EDIT: Ok, 6% of Canadians don't know who he is(or at least don't have an opinion). Most don't trust him. And that was back in December before the Nazi salute.
