Trump is just doing his usual stomping his feet, bullying, reprehensible scumbag schtick. This stuff is mostly just for show to make himself look like a tough guy, because that’s what his supporters want. And because he knows it usually gets him results. It’s worked for him his entire life.
The problem is that he’s arguably the dumbest human being on Earth and he doesn’t understand how anything works, particularly things like trade agreements. But in order to try and make himself and his billionaire buddies richer, he’s willing to destroy relationships with America’s closest allies/trading partners and severely damage the economies of all three countries to do it. How do you possibly negotiate with an idiot like that? Canada and Mexico can present him all the facts and statistics they want, but he and the MAGA lunatics in his administration aren’t gonna listen. I don’t know what the solution is for dealing with these assclowns, but it ain’t gonna be easy.
