Alberta isn’t punished. High-earning Canadians end up paying more in taxes than they receive in services, and Alberta has more high-earning Canadians (and fewer old, retired Canadians).

Again, if Alberta conservatives feel that strongly that taxpayers in communities with strong economies shouldn’t subsidize public services in communities with weaker economies, we should review how rural schools, roads, and hospitals in this province are funded. But I wouldn’t hold my breath waiting for that to appear on the agenda of the next party convention of the UCP.
