I know this because I've taken time over the past twenty years to listen to my trans friends, and understanding that a big part of it was having it in locker rooms in schools - because when the girls team travels to an away event, they use the boys locker room at the the school, because the home team uses the girls' room.

But here's the thing with folks on both sides of the border - it's just a distraction. It's the shiny toy to get frothed up about so they can't see that what used to be known as conservatives are no longer so, especially when it comes to fiscal policy.

How the eff does having menstrual products in a boys/men's affect any male that doesn't need them? Other than understanding that someone needs them, or that trans people exist. That's it.

Yeesh.
It's interesting to me that the only place I can remember seeing menstrual products in a male washroom is in the US. I've never seen it in Thailand, where I spend a lot of time, even though it is possibly the most accepting and normalised place for trans people in the world. It makes me wonder how much is driven by gender politics versus necessity. (I'm not coming from any particular angle, it's just an interesting observation.)
