Craig’s not going to use all his draft stock for a small window here, he’s trying to weaponize cap space if it can’t be used to acquire that #1 C.

This is the only sensible strategy for the Flames right now. With so many teams still in the playoff mix and the cap going up soon, the offers are probably very low.
In a month some teams will put all their chips in and that will be peak time to maximize Ras’s value or get futures in exchange for accepting cap dumps.
There’s going to be lots of deals.
