There are probably more examples, but that's off the top of my head. I'm not sure why you felt the need to raise my Devils fandom, not sure how that advanced your argument in any way. It makes you look petty and shallow IMO.
The NHL hasn't, doesn't and won't protect their stars to the extent that the other major sports do.
