I don’t really buy that the Red Wings deserve the credit they do for those picks.sure, at the end of the day, they picked them. But on the other hand if you look at their drafts from both of those years the Red Wings passed on both players several times.
If they had any idea either was going to be as good as they turned out to be, the Wings would have picked them in the first round.
They get a lot of credit for falling ass backwards into those players.
