What tools would these be? The NHL EDGE comparison Sureloss posted shows Rooney equal to or better than Ryan on every measure they track.

The only place I've seen mentioned where Ryan has a clear edge is one that EDGE doesn't track, faceoff percentage. But having a centre who is good at faceoffs is not much help when he is bad at everything you have to do after the puck is in play.

It would be great to replace Rooney with a better player. I don't see much point in spending cash to replace Rooney with a worse player who happens to be better at faceoffs.
