Someone would have to be moved OFF centre!!!!! Umm, yeah that's exactly what would happen when we're looking to find another true top six centre.

Why would the Flames trade for a 2C or 3C, which due to their position cost extra organizational assets to obtain, only to move a 2C to the wing, thereby both overpaying for an asset not needed and at the same devaluing their own asset? Kadri can serve well as a 2C until Zary can take over that role. What the team clearly does need is an elite 1C, and nobody currently in the org is projecting to fill this role. We need to add a centre to the organization, but if an acquired player can’t drive a top line on a Cup contender, then it’s mostly a lateral move. Let’s not waste any more assets on middle 6 forwards, we need genuine first line forwards. Those are hard and expensive to obtain by trade, so the Flames need to pile up draft picks and use them well.
