Stop what? Nearly every year, some team (usually just entering its contention window) gets bounced unceremoniously by a seriously inferior opponent in the first round. Many times, the team getting bounced was the Flames. A couple of times, it was the Flames doing the bouncing. It is not ‘absolute lunacy’ to say that it

That's what people were saying about Montreal in 2021. They barely made the playoffs at all in a weak division with a screwy schedule. Yet there they were in the SCF.
