Thats just not how the Electoral Process works. There was a guy one time, not too long ago who promised to fix this. Hows that working out?

That's a cop out unless you know nothing about how parliament works. Power is hugely centralized in the PMO/Privy Council, and backbenchers have almost zero say, so voting for a party member = voting for their leader. Most people couldn't name their member.
