So now, we have an even more over burdened public sector in order to prop up the private one that you so desperately want. Does the private sector at least run more efficiently, or cost less? Not in the example of the US as a whole, and not when we've had private clinics studied in Canada either.
I guess you just want an even worse system? Or is "privatize everything" just a talking point that is repeated and actually doesn't make sense much of the time?

Whether you like it or not, Canada healthcare competes with American healthcare. Part of the shortage is, healthcare professions moving to the US for better pay.
So everything should be on table when it comes to making the lives of people better.
These problems are solvable, just not by goverment.
