And what I fail to also understand is what the pro-tanking crowd thinks the Flames should be doing differently to guarantee a lower finish in the standings. That's another question I've asked that hasn't been answered at all.

Traded 6 UFAs
Traded a number goaltender 2 years before contract expiration
Went into the season with $20M of cap space
Went into the season with two relatively inexperienced goaltenders, and a very thin blueline
This wasn't a playoff team plan.
They've played better than expected, and with that (I think) deserve a chance to play it out.
I'm hoping they don't do something silly to bolster it. I'd honestly be fine with a depth add for a late round pick (cringingly), but nothing more substantive.
