It’s funny how things work out. I honestly think if the flames drafted Iginla or Catton instead of Parekh at the draft last year, a lot more of us would be preferring signing Andersson over trading him. Not everyone would switch but quite a few. It really is difficult because Andersson plays the one position the team is very deep at organizationally. They have at least 3 young right-handed defence prospects that look like they could become top four defencemen in the NHL. Add in Weegar and Andersson and it starts to look like it will be tough to create opportunities for these players in the next 4 years. It’s a good problem to have but it often means trading from a position of strength.

I don’t think anyone wants to trade Parekh right now. The other two defence prospect (Brz and Mews) are projecting well right now but won’t return as much as Andersson or Parekh.
