I said it last season when things were evidently going south, and will continue to say it again. The biggest problem is the prospect base isn’t there. So if your lineup currently isn’t good, and you don’t have an endless budget, you’re forced to rebuild. The two guys to deal for value are Vlad and/or Bo, but also Gausman. Those three are the only ones who will bring back material rebound value. Or they go haphazardly to a retool but lazily signing free agents and filling out the rest of the roster with Turners again. To me you go for the full rebuild. It really sucks to lose Vlad and Bo but this management group f’ed it up badly. There really isn’t a choice here for the long term benefit of the team.
