Malkin probably keeps his rings in the safe and/or his wife keeps her rings in there too. But maybe its a pain in the ass to keep locking and unlocking and they got lax and kinda just leave it open unless they are on a trip.
The security system being down is interesting though.
Wonder if there's a russian oligarch out there sending a message? Or Putin himself?
