His prime will mostly be the next 10 years until hes 34. These 10 years are our window (if we're able to keep him).
And i said starting to open. Not that it's ripped wide open and we're cup contenders right now. Yeah we still need some pieces.
But you can see a crack now with Wolf, coronato, zary ++ all coming into their own at the NHL level.

You are not entirely wrong for sure, but most of us will consider the window starting to open when we have the pieces in place that will form the core of a cup contending team.
The players who are currently playing for Calgary and prospects in the system are not enough to turn Calgary into a contending team in the future. At least in my opinion. Until those other players (primarily high end offensive players including a #1 centre) are obtained, the contention window is not open.
